Blue Ridge

Loudoun Street, Winchester

For Junior.

He came home from the war, opened a motor shop, and spent the rest of his working life keeping other people's machines running. Everyone called him Junior. The shop is still here.

The bench at the Blue Ridge shop

We know less about him than we should. The shop passed to Rod Wilson, and from Rod to its third owner. The tools, the bench, and a few habits made the trip; most of the paperwork did not. We have not been able to find his full name, the year he opened, or a photograph.

If you knew him

If you worked here, sent a motor here, grew up near the shop, or are family — we would like to hear it. A name, a year, a story, a photo of the old sign. Anything. Write to lc@blueridge.ai with “For Junior” in the subject, or call 540-662-8463 and ask for the owner.

When we can verify it, it goes on the About page with his name on it — where it belongs.
